龍摩恩蒸餾廠由John Duff於1895年成立，John Duff在20年前成立Glenlossie蒸餾廠，是為一位經驗豐富的建廠投資人。
龍摩恩蒸餾廠位於Elgin鎮和Rothers鎮之間，這一帶地區土質肥沃盛產大麥，又具有清澈的水質，許多知名蒸餾廠都建廠與此。

John Duff將龍摩恩蒸餾廠經營的有聲有色，因此隔年在隔壁成立了龍摩恩二廠，也就是現今的班瑞克蒸餾廠，但幾乎在同年John Duff受到大客戶Pattison Elder Co的倒帳而宣告破產。
於是將龍摩恩蒸餾廠賣給了格蘭冠的創始人James R Grant，在其掌管至1970年，才合併成為格蘭利威蒸餾廠
1974年將蒸餾器增加為8座，將2座舊蒸餾器報廢，取而代之的是2座全新的wash蒸餾器，龍摩恩蒸餾廠現屬於保樂力加集團，生產的威士忌多用於起瓦士和皇家禮炮調和用
